General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
PCOS is complex disease.
It is associated with hormonal imbalance/androgen predominant, menstrual irregularity and insulin resistance.
You have to take the treatment for 6-8 months depend upon the deranged investigations.
I would suggests to consult the gynecologist and undergo following investigations for better management.
Reproductive hormone analysis, USG scan, ovarian follicle study. blood sugar and lipid profile.
Doctor will give following advises:
Birth control pill or progesterone pill: to regularize the period and regression the cyst.
Tablet metformin to regularize the glucose homeostasis and induction of ovulation.
Do regular exercise and lose 10-12 % body weight if you are obese.
Avoid excessive sweets/spicy and salty food.
Take more green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits.
Drink plenty of fluids and avoid stress.
Hope this may help you
