How Accurate Are Tests For HIV?

i had unprotected sex with a lady on may 04th 2010 . i tested for hiv in on septmeber 13th 2010 and by gods grace it has come negative. again on 2nd october 2010 i tested with TRI - DOT method again the result was nonreactive means negative is the test accurate can i be fully satisfied now ....i have decided not to have or indulge in such activities

If you got tested twice for HIV by tridot test after 4 months and 5 months of suspected exposure and both reports are negative then it is almost certain that you are not infected.

Research has been done on the accuracy of tridot test. Medical literature says that the sensitivity and specificity of the TRI-DOT test is 99.48% and 99.99%, respectively, compared with the fourth-generation ELISA.

This means your reports are accurate and you should not worry any more about HIV. Please do not indulge in unsafe sexual practices and always have condom sex with unknown partners.
