Hi...I went to my gynecologist for my yearly visit this week. I had breast cancer 5 years ago and am being treated with arimidex (which I will be done taking in July), and a lumpectomy. I had chemo and radiation too. During my breast exam the doctor noticed that I had a retraction at the 2 o'clock position on the left breast. This was while lying down. When I returned home I examined it myself and noticed that as I push in around my nipple the skin doesn't return, it remains flattened. I also noticed that my breast is very saggy (ptosis) and I think I am at a level 2 grade for that. She is sending me for a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound this week to check it out. Is it possible that this retraction is caused my stretched out skin? I also recently lost 15 or so pounds. I do not notice the indentation while standing or pushing my arms forward with my hands on my hips.
It seems that when I lie down all the breast tissue flops over to the left side and there is no tissue under my nipple.
