Hello,
You are suggested to control your blood sugar level at all cost as high blood sugar will trigger the symptoms. Regular exercises and walking will help to control the neuropathy pain. Quit smoking, avoid alcohol intake. Get blood tests done to detect signs of inflammation, diabetes, low level of vitamin, or metabolic issues that cause
peripheral neuropathy.
Let that get treated. Get CT and MRI done to detect pinched nerve, herniated nerve or compressed nerve. Get nerve function tests and nerve biopsy and
skin biopsy done. You will be treated accordingly with nerve repairing supplements. Lidocaine patches help to relieve pain. Applying lidocaine cream on the affected area helps to relieve pain.
Your treating doctor can prescribe anti
depression medicines if required. Plasma exchange,
spinal cord stimulation, scrambler therapy,
physical therapy are helpful. Surgery is only recommended when conservative treatment and other therapies fail.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
