Hi Barry.woodhead,
Thanks for writing your query.

It would be helpful if you give more information on :-
1. Any history of medicine intake?
2. Your occupation?
3. Whether headache is associated with your symptoms?
4. Details about the visual distortion.
5. Whether anxiety is associated with your symptoms?

You should get yourself examined clinically by your physician and get a scan of your head done.
It might be a possibility that the symptoms described by you are due to anxiety.
Other possibility can be a mild vasovagal attack.

Still you should get some investigatios done like :-
1. Hemoglobin level
2. Blood sugar levels
3. Blood pressure monitoring

I hope this is helpful to you.
