Having Running Nose, Sneezing And Cough. Taking Montair. What To Do?
Hello Doctor,
My 8 year old son has been suffering from the problem of frequent bouts of running nose, sneezing which converts into cough. This happens almost every 10 days (throughout the year). it has beeen happening for last 3-4 years. The problem is high during night time. During daytime, he is ususally fine. We tried Montair Kid for 2-3 months. It reduced the problem but also made him dull. He finds it difficult to get up in the morning for school after taking Montair. Please advise what should we do?
Notes - I stay in Mysore. We have no pets at home. There are lots of ornamental plants around the house.

Hi, the cause of the recurent sneezing might be the deviated nasal septum, or allergy, or eosinophelia. I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment, When ever you go to the doctor mention about the drousy ness with the montair.
Avoid giving him fruits, juices, cool drinks, and ice creams, and also things which may be allergic to him, including the plants in the house. try to keep him away from the plants and flowers. thank you.

child is suffering from allergies as these are typical allergic rhinitis symptomps
montelucast is the safest anti allergi for kids
usually there is no sedation
but you can try fexofenadine tabs
apply neomycin h oinntment in nose bd
and sea water 1 dop at night each nose to clear the passage of nose
but need to investigate for cause of allergy afer consulting allergy specialist and he can treat accoedingly
