Having Frequent Fever And Flu Like Symptoms. Malaria?

Hi my family travelled to St John in December....they had an outbreak of mosquitos. My 6 year old keeps getting high fevers every month since then, yesterday it was 106, but he always gets better. but 3 weeks later he has high fevers and flu like symptoms. his doctor and the local hospital have no clue. can malaria come and go like this?

Hi,
Malaria fever can be of different types like coming every day or alternate day or every 4th day .If malarial fever has gone on for too long there is severe anaemia noticed in the patient.
There are simple test available to test malaria like Peripheral smear or Malarial antigen test by Rapid diagnostic kits .
However fever can be because of various reasons .I would advise you to get him examined by his doctor and maybe get few blood investigation done to diagnose his fever.
