Having Chest Pain With Cramp In Legs, Coughing & Difficulty In Swallowing After Takin Olmax-H & Rosufit CV?
My age 51, taking Olmax-H since 15 days in the morning after breakfast and RosufitCV 10 in the evening for BP and cholesterol control. The doctor advised these two medicine as my BP was 170/100 and total cholesterol 260. But after taking medicine I feel energy less and even pain in chest area apart from cramp in legs , coughing ,difficulty in swallowing etc. I am totally confused

The most severe adverse effect of statins is myotoxicity, in the form of myopathy. Myopathy is a muscular disease in which the muscle fibers do not function for any one of many reasons, resulting in muscular weakness. Suppression of angiotensin II leads to a decrease in aldosterone levels.
Since aldosterone is responsible for increasing the excretion of potassium, olmax H is a diuretic called hydrochlorthiazide. It causes increase in excretion of sodium and potassium hence cause fatigue weakness and lethargy. Ask your doctor to shift you to amlodipine, and to decrease the dose of statins to minimal.

You continue with olmax H. And discontinue rosufit CV and look for the response. Also get your Cpk levels done. These can be the side effects of rosuvastatin. If it resolve we try to reintroduce it lower drug or other drug like atorvastatin. Till the time you continue olmax H, monitor your blood pressure, low salt, low fat, and do regular exercises. Get back with cpk report.
