Having Burning Sensation While Defecation Due To Proctitis. Can Change In Diet Or Medication Can Help?

I have proctitis (NOT caused by STD) and am currently having a lot of pain (burning sensation) when pooping and after. Sometimes is lasts 15 minutes and sometimes it hurts all day. I am currently taking 1000mg Canasa suppositories. Do I need to change something in my diet or is there another medication that I can take to stop the pain?

Hi and welcome to HCM,
Change in diet will help you greatly for burning sensation.
You can add cabbage, green leaves, wheat, potato, fruits particularly. Fiber supplements like Metamucil can be added. Avoid non-vegetarian foods. Continue you medicines as prescribed by your doctor and follow fiber diet. If symptoms persists you can have a follow up with your physician.
wish you speedy recovery
