Have Stage C Cirrhosis. Taking Benadryl For Allergic Reaction To Sanitizer. Cause Of Cirrhosis?

hi my name is ron.my wife has been diagnosed with stage c cirrosis.she has been drinking for a long time.she had a job about a couple of years ago that she was having an allergic reaction to the sanitizer they were using.she would take a lot of benadryls a day for years.could this with moderate drinking have caused this?

Benadry is not known to have an effect on the liver.

The cirrhosis is more likely related to the chronic alcohol use. There are other causes of cirrhosis such as (1)hepatitis viral illnesses,
(2)autoimmune disease,
(3)due to conditions such as wilson's disease,
(4)side effect of medication such as amiodarone, methotrexate, alpha methydopa

These are only some of the other causes of cirrhosis.

The treatment would involve addressing any symptoms that your wife may present with and addressing nutrition.
