Have Red Round Dry Circle On Belly. Used Ringworm Cream Leaving Black Circle. Cure?

I had a round red dry circle on my belly. I figured it to be ring worm (as I had ring worm on my arm just prior). I used the same cream and the itch and redness went away, but it seems a dark blackish circle remains. Doesn't grow, itch or hurt. It just kind of stands out. More annoying than anything. Do you know what it could be? Thank you

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query.

The black circle seems to be post inflammatory hyper pigmentation which may occur as an inflammatory lesion heals. In your case it has resulted as a sequel of ring worm infection.

To treat the same apply a depigmenting cream like hydroquinone cream at night and kojic acid based cream in the morning.

It may take a few weeks to months to fade.

Hope this solves your query.
