Have Peeling On Inside Of Mouth, Bleeding Like Sores, Painful. What Could Cause This?

Hi, I have had peeling on the inside of my mouth on the sides for some time, now the roof of my mouth is peeling and now has bleeding like sores. It feels very raw and painful. What could cause this. Also, don t know if this is relevent but my ANA s tests come back positive for an autoimmune disorder which no one can seem to figure out.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
thanks for your query.
Positive ANA test is sensitive test for autoimmune diseases however it may be false positive. It may be positive in Systemic lupus erythematosus,Scleroderma,Sjögren's syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease or in some medications. As you are also having peeling oral mucosa, you are highly recommended to visit immunologist, he may advise biopsy and immunofluorescence study to reach any diagnosis.
Hope it helps
