Have Panic Attacks, Anxiety, High BP, Weakness. Taken Lisinopril. Side Effects?

My question is how long does is take for this lisinopril to get out of system. Been 2weeks. My blood pressure is good now, after given to me for Panic attack anxiety, where my blood pressure was bit high. Doctor told me to stop taking right away. That was 2 weeks ago. I still feel weak, and basically not like myself. Will water flush this nasty pill out? Am on no other medications.

Hi,

You have a history of panic disorder(duration) that required an antihypertensive agent to control BP i.e lisinopril (?first time).

The half-life of lisinopril is approximately 12 hours which means that in an average person it disappears from the body within 3-4 days. But since some of its effects can last longer, it may take up to 1-2 weeks after stopping it. Give it a few more days to feel better. Also get your BP checked regularly for atleast a few months from now.

If symptoms don't resolve soon then see your general physician for any other underlying cause.

Wishing you the best of health,
Dr A Rao
