Have Lump In Between Brow, Eyelid, Painful, Red, Swollen. Should I Be Concerned?

Hi I have had a lump in between brow and eyelid ( closer to the nose ). I noticed a lump 2 days ago. It was very painful and red. This morning I woke up and could barely open the eye. It is painful, heavy and swollen. Normally I wouldn t be concerned but I had melanoma 5 years ago that spread to lymhnode. Should I be concerned about this? Thanks you! Katrina

I would like to answer your question and your satisfaction is my goal .

As you have given the history of a lump between the eye lid and eye brow , it is difficult to tell you the exact diagnosis and treatment . A number of things are considered in case of a lump . Its color , its size , its margins , its mobility under the skin , is it attached to the over lying skin , its temperature , whether it is tender , its consistency etc . If it is pointing towards the border of the eye lash then it could be stye or chlazion .Apply wet , warm compresses for 5 to 10 minutes, 3 times a day . Use antibiotic eye drops / ointment and take pain killer tablets (Ibuprofen) . I hope this would help.

Since , you have mentioned about history of melanoma in past , I would recommend you to see your Dermatologist soon .
