Have Lipoedema In Legs. Done Gastric Bypass Surgery. Back Pain, Osteoarthritis, Spondylitis. Worried About Side Effects Of Lyrica

Hi, i live in Australia. I have lipeodema in both my legs. I have lost 75kg due to gastric bypass surgery, but my legs remained big. I have had 15 ltrs of fat removed from my lower legs, thighs and hips. I have recently been suffering with back pain and was diagnosed with osteo arthritus and spondylitus disease. A few days ago i just slightly twisted around and a sharp pain shot thru my lower back. It has been really bad for a few days and my gp gave me Lyrica 75mg x2 a day. I have read of the side effects can cause swelling of the feet and legs and also weight gain. I am now very scared to start on this medication, but dont want to be in pain. Will it make my legs go big again?

Hi,
Lyrica is basically Pregabalin-belonging to nurogenic analgesic group.
Like any other drug it also have side effefects-But it does not mean every one will have it.
I gather that you donot have any side effect at present. You already know the details' please contact your Dr. immediately you note ome. There are many more alternatives Your Dr will change the medicine if needed.
