Have Hypothyroid. Pain In Knee And Wrist. Thyroid Tests Normal, Autoantibodies High, Vitamin D 17. Side Effects Of Thyroid Medication?

hello Doctor, im an hypothyroid male.. have been diagnosed with hypothyroid for 13 years now,...im 26 yrs old... recently i have developed pains in my knee and wrist..my left knee pains regularly...even without too much stress applied to it....and my thyroid tests are normal...but autoantibodies was a lil high..in the range of 49.. and vit d was around 17... could you give the long term effects thyroid medications brings to patients... thank you so much....

Thank you for the query. I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. I will list out some long term effects of thyroid medication here:
-Palpitations
-insomnia
-nervousness
-weight loss
-tremors
-change in bowel movements
-osteoporosis.
So, among the above mentioned side effects the side effect which is bothering you right now in my opinion is osteoporosis which is thinning of the bone and you also have low vitamin D levels for that we commonly use bisphosphonates and vitamin d supplements so I advice you to consult an orthopedician so that they will examine the exact cause and treat you accordingly.Thank you.
