Have Hypertension. Taking Atenolol, HCTA/Triameterine, Linsinopril, Asprin And Vitamin Supplements. What Can Be Side Effects?

I am taking drugs for hypertension....I am concerned about their effects on my blood sugar.....Atenolol, HCTA/Triamterine, Lisinopril and asprin that has recently been raised from 81mg to 325mg without any explantion why. I started supplementing with vitamins and it has brought back my energy.....E especially. I do take levothiroxine 100m for thyroid. I wonder is these drugs effect the lab tests as well. How can I fix anything when all of these drugs cause lab result issues with each other?
I am 60 years old and had pretty good health and weight until I started taking all these meds.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
After going through your history, you are having High blood pressure, Hypothyroidism and Diabetes and worried about effects on blood sugar yes Thiazide diuretics can increase blood sugar level so closely monitor your level and dose adjustment from your Physician.
Beta Blocker atenolol is cardioselective but can mask symptoms of hypoglycemia.
You are taking Lisinopril which belong to ACE inhibitor group hence also take care of serum Potassium level as along with Triamterene it can go high. Why aspirin dose is increased you have to ask your Physician.
Please continue to take your Thyroxine supplementation regularly.
Please discuss with your Physician and you can always take a second opinion.
Take care.
Good Luck.
