Have Had Chickenpox, Blisters. Prescribed Zinkolie Cream. Is Rubbing Alcohol An Equally Good Solution?

I've had chicken pox 4 days ago. Went to my doctor and was prescribed with Zinkolie cream to be applied on the blisters and was advised not to take a bath. But until now, no blisters have scabbed. The cream is water resistant. Should I remove the cream? If so, can I use rubbing alcohol using a cotton ball since water alone cannot do the trick? Thank you!
