Have Had Breakouts Of Ringworms All Over Body During Pregnancy And Under Stress. Is There A Connection?

With both pregnancies, within two weeks of giving birth- I had a ringworm out break on my entire body that was cured with a cream both times through a dermatologist. However, i notice every now and then a flare up - very faint on my arms - elbow down - 1-3 circles or so and legs - knees down - usually when I am under alot of stress. Is there a connection? Is there a way to get rid of this permanently?

Thank you.

Hello,

Ringworm is a fungal infection. It is therefore opportunistic. This will appear at times your immune system is down. This explains why it usually appears during stressful occasions. There is a cure for this but you need patience on prolonging the medication to avoid relapse or recurrence, since fungal infections are not easily eradicated once it sets in.

Feel free to follow up.

Thanks,

Dr. Eric
