Have Cramps, Spotting And Heavy Bleeding

I’m taking Trinessa, I have been taking the same formula for a year. I decided to skip the placebo week last week so I started a new pack the past Sunday. Since yesterday (Saturday) I started spotting and now I’m fully bleeding with really bad cramps, it doesn’t stop. I have continued taking my pills at the same time every day but I’m worried that I will keep bleeding. Sources I’ve read online say the bleeding could go on for weeks, is this true? is there anything I can do to stop it? will my period go back to normal? what do I do about the pills, do I keep taking my current pack, wait the placebo week and keep taking the pills normally after that?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Yes, it is true that the bleeding can go on for quite sometime. What you are experiencing is a side effecr of the pill and I would strongly recommend a visit to your prescribing doctor to help either discontinue the pill or make alterations to the regimen to prevent such an occurence.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
