Have Cramp Like Pains In Pelvic Region. Normal CT Scan. History Of Hysterectomy, Laproscopic Surgery For Endomtriosis. Endometriosis Recurring?

I had a full hysterectomy back in 2005 with bilateral removal of the ovaries. Prior to this, I have has 2 laparoscopic surgeries for endometriosis. This past week or so, I have been having strong, cramp like pains on both sides in the pelvic region. I've had a CT scan that showed nothing. Could the endometriosis be back? Does it show on a CT?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM

as you have complete hystrectomy including ovaries are removed, recurrence of endometriosis is less likely. as endometric lesions needs hormonal support to be active and cause symptoms, as your ovaries are removed there is no hormonal supply for them to act. And on CT scan we recognise endometric lesions.
If you are on HRT then there are possibilities of endometric lesions to cause pain.

With history of 1 week duration you need to be evaluated for cause of pain abdomen. Could be due to sub acute appendicities or colitis or renal stones, Get Ultrasound of abdomen done and get examined by your doctor.

hope this helps you.

Regards
