Have HCV. Taken Amoxicillin For Dental Treatment. Medicine Caused Recurrence Of HCV?

Yes, I have HCV and was unsuccessful with the traditional treatment. (Interferon injections and ribavirin pills)
Due to my total joint replacement, I have to take antibiotics before dental appointments. Since my HCV treatment ended. I continued amoxicillin before dental appointment. My HCV came roaring back. In my research on the net, I learned that amoxicillin may have adverse effect with my HCV and gave it fuel to grow.
Is there any validity to this?

Hi

Thanks for asking.

I do not think so. HCV is a viral infection and antibiotics should not have any effects on the viral load or the amount of positivity or the negativity of the viral infection.

Antibiotics can increase or decrease the concentration of some drugs if used in conjunction, but I do not think so it can have any effect on the hepatitis c.

Thanks.
