Had Sex After Miscalculating Safe Period. Can I Confirm Pregnancy Early To Have Norethisterone?

Hi ,I miscalculated my safe period and we made love on 2 days after my estimated ovulation (ovulation 20th...interc 22 nd).....I was about to start norethisterone to delay my periods on 30 th due to a trip....can I confirm early by any means if I have become pregnant? I don t want pregnancy now....should I be worried and not take norethisterone now ? Please guide

Hello,

If you had unprotected sex, you should take emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hours of intercourse. It's best effective. However it can also be taken within 100 hours (5 days) of unprotected sex.

It is very difficult to know if you are pregnant before hand but in case you miss your periods you should go for a blood test to confirm pregnancy. HCG shows up faster in the blood than in the urine.

You can visit a gynecologist & get USG (UTERUS) done to confirm pregnancy at the earliest so that it can be managed without delay.
