Had Seizures Due To Hard Arteries In Brain. Took Nitro Pills, Ms Contin. Scan Showed Early Stage Of Alzheimer
female 80 yr with harding of the arteries of her brain had sezure whole body shook for 3hrs couldn t talk drink etc due to sever left rib cage and upper right and left quads abd before er she took 2 nitro pills, ms contin 30mg,imdur 60mg,flexeril 10mg, and dry heaves. no temp vs stable. went to er xray ok no fractures, ct no fractures or bleeding, lab work K+ was a little low, ct showed early stages of alhzemers, with some white matter has shorted. they gave her iv pain med they told me but I forgot but if you could tell me what possibilities I can tell you what it is. thanks Kim retired cicu nurse

Based on the description, there seems to be seizures, which needs anti-epileptic drugs. The safe options would include levetiracetam and carbamazepine.
In addition, there seems to be brain ischemia (lack of blood flow to the brain), for which aspirin may be used.
For changes of Alzheimer's disease (AD) on CT scan, she needs to be evaluated by a neuropsychologist, and then, medications can be decided, if a diagnosis of AD is confirmed.
