Had Pain In Arm, Increases When Lift Weight. No Other Symptom. How To Relieve The Pain?
For the past three weeks I have had pain in my upper left arm, and it causes more pain throughout the arm when I lift it sometimes. It feels like the pain is right in the muscle or possibly bone. I have no other symptoms such as chest pain, breathing problems, etc. Any ideas as to the cause or anything I can do to relieve the pain? Thanks for the help!
As your pain is getting severe with movements of the arm, it is likely to be of muscular origin. Pain arising from the bone will be dull aching and constant & will not be exaggerated by movements.
* Give rest to the arm by avoiding activities that causes pain * Ice pack the painful area once in 2-3 hours * Gentle massaging the affected area with any painkiller gel * Apply moist heat fomentation to the painful area to relax the soft tissues * Use analgesic medications like Advil or Aleve as needed
If your symtoms are not resolving, xray of the involved area is necessary to rule out any bony causes and an MRI scan of the cervical spine to diagnose any disc prolapse which also presents with pain in the arm.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
