Had knee replacement surgery, have fever, blood test negative. Is fever due to pain?

my aunt has had a knee replacement surgery over 2 weeks ago. she has been having fever to the tune of about 100- 102 and this gets to normal within a day or 2. then again the fever sets in. We have had the blood tests done as we initally suspected malria or dengue . However the tests were clear for both. There is no taste in her mouth nor has she has the feeling to eat anything.
