Had Intercourse Before Removing Mirena. Mild Spotting. Chances Of Pregnancy?

Hello, I have had my Mirena since November 2011. I got it taken out April 26, 2013. My husband and I have quite the regular sex life on mirena. The night before I got my mirena removed we had sex with ejaculation inside. I went In the next morning got mirena removed, and was sent home with Nuva ring. I inserted Nuva ring on Sunday, and had some light bleeding. What is the bleeding from? Could there be a chance of pregnancy from the intercourse the night before removal? My Menstrual cycle 1st day last period was April 15.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The intercourse on the night before removal of Mirena is not likely to cause a pregnancy. Since you have now Nuvaring inserted, the mild bleeding could be due to the insertion of the implant in the uterus.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Rakhi-Tayal
