Had Hit Head. Feel Sleepy And Head Hurts. Should I Worry?

As I was reaching into fridge, I came up and hit top of head on freezer door that had opened. It was a hard blow to the head. I was a bit light-heading and not completely with it, but I knew exactly what I did. Next day, I slurred a bit in the morning, but that was it. Since the incident, I have been very sleepy, and my head hurts badly, I do sometimes get sharp pains. This happened 9 days ago, and I went to E.R. 3 days ago. They x-rayed by skull and discharged me. I do not have an appt. with dr. until 3/20. My temp. is lower than normal (temp. is 97.0-usual is 98.6 give her take a little) Should I return to E.R. or is it normal to feel pressure and have headaches all over? Do I just wait on appt.?

Hi Kgaude,
Thanks for writing your query,

After reading your post, it seems that you have suffered from Concussion injury.
It occurs due to some biochemical changes in the brain as a result of head injury.

It takes few days to weeks for complete recovery from concussion.
Recovery is quickened by taking proper rest, which includes avoiding watching television/computers and even text messaging.

You can take pain killer like Ibuprofen one tablet twice a day after meals along with an antacid.
If the problem persists, get yourself examined by a Neurophysician.
Also get a scan of your head done.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
