Had Gastric Bypass Survey, Thyroid, Experiencing Severe Hair Fall. Need Treatment Without Any Side Effects

i am 42 yrs indian female. Had gastric bypass surgey 5 months back. I have thyroid also. I am on vitamin supplements like supradyn, neurobion , calcium ccm. Since last month i am experiencing severe hair fall . Earlier i had good hair. Now only handfull is left and fast depleting. Can u suggest some treatment without any side effects. My doctor suggested tab radiance h and oil minoxidil 4%. But i read that this oil has side effects. Also i have severe pain in my spine since last one month. I have lost 30kgs after gastric bypass in last 5 months.

Hi thanks for writing to Health care magic.Hair fall is common whenever we undergo some sort of stress either physical,mental etc.There is a disturbance in hair cycle leading to hair fall .This is known as telogen effluvium.As you have undergone gastric surgery,it has produced lot of stress in you leading to hair fall.Treatment is just wait and watch since this type of hair fall usually recovers well in 3 to 6 months.You can consider treatment if hair loss present after 6 months.You can continue with tab.radiance h for at least 3 months.Minoxidil is safe ,only side effect is irritation of hair folllicles.You can switch over to minoxidil foams and you can also reduce percentage to 2% .I hope this can solve your query to some extent.Take care.
