Had Fever And Cold. Coughing Up Yellow Phlegm With Blood, Itchy Throat, Tonsils Are Red. What's Going On?

i had a fever and a cold a couple of days back..fever is okay now but i am coughing up yellow phlegm and it has small spots of blood in it...my throat has been itchy too and i can see a part of my tonsils are a little red..i am 19 years of age and have smoked very few cigarettes maybe 5 a week for the past year..so i am confused as to whats going on!!?

hi,you are having a respiratory tract infection-an infection involving your nose,throat,trachea and bronchi.see your family doctor and get yourself examined.you will be prescribed antibiotics and anticold medication.get well soon. dr praveen.
