Had SAH, Headache, Inability To See. Chances Of Recovering Vision?
Hi, My brother - 45 yrs old- just suffered a SAH. His aneurysm was between his eyes and impinged his optic nerve. He has some distal vision. If he tilts his head back he can see clearly if the print is larger than normal, otherwise all he sees is a "splotch" that looks red if he is looking at the light. He woke with a severe headache and an inability to see. No other deficits- thankfully. What are the chances he will recover any vision?
Hello. The situation of his brother is complicated. To find if is possible an improvement in your vision is necessary to know the amount of edema that exists around the optic nerve and if surgical intervention is made on the aneurysm. Also in some patients , bleeding appears again-even a month after the first bleeding-complicating more the prognosis of the patient. Mentioned factors will determine the vision of his brother, but the situation is complicated. I wish you good health. (In case the answer would have been useful please indicate this)
