hi i have been having trouble with bleeding getting peroid evey two weeks when to hospital had a dc day surgery they biospy cervic i had 3 pollips and did some scraping after 2 weeks call me back and started me on theses pills megestrol acetate 40 mg one a day now im having a hystrrecomy and they said my blood counts and sracping cells are very high i have a 50 purcent chance there is some cancer but thats alll they really told me untill i go back on oct 24 so i just dont no really what to make of all this

Megestrol acetate is a progesterone compound used in the treatment of breast and endometrial cancers. If your endometrial scrapings showed evidence of a neoplasm in the uterus, your treatment would be based on the extent of the disease. Please ask your surgeon as to what exactly is the clinical condition and follow the treatment modalities properly. Early intervention gives a very good chance of cure. There is no need to panic even if it is a malignancy, as you have every chance of remission with appropriate management. Hope this helps.
