Gall Bladder Partially Working, Pain. Avoiding Oily Foods. Is Their Necessity Of Surgery?

Had a hidascan done 2 years ago with gall bladder trouble. They said it was partially working and gave me a prescription for prilosec to help heal the issuesI was having and a guideline to eat by, typical avoid fatty foods etc;I try not to eat anything that upsets it but I've noticed more and more problems with almost anything I eat. I had braised beef earlier tonight and it feels as if isn't digesting. I only have full on gall bladder attacks when i drink alcohol or eat buttery popcorn or high fatty meals. is it possible that I should have another Hilda scan done and have it removed if it has gotten worse. I would really like to not be nauseas and have this constant dull ache on my side every time I eat.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your query.
Sugery is indicated when there is symptomatic disorder of gallbladder and this obviously is in your case. So this would be the most optimal treatment. This is simple procedure today and done laparoscopically. Symptoms are not easily treatbale by medicines or diet changes and it will never subside completely. Wish you good health.

Hi, You gallbladder is partially working and using the prilosec, told tpo avoid fatty foods, but getting trouble by eating anything.
I advise such patients a combination of omeprazole and domperidone, and to avoid spices, junk foods, and oilyfoods, and to minimise the nonvegetarian foods in one spell. Thank you.
