Hi and thanks for the query,
it might be necessary to consult your primary care physician to exclude a sexually transmitted infection. Generally, early detection otherwise easy and appropriately treated reduces risk of developing complications. Doing tests like urine analysis and culture, urethral swab analysis and culture with antibiotic sensitivity tests might be useful. Avoiding unprotected sex for the moment is of great good and also advice your partner to get a proper medical consultation. Book an appointment with your treating physician for a proper evaluation and management.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
