Hello,
If there is lots of bruising then there is a definite possibility of fracture. You need a complete X-ray series of your foot to be completely sure that there is no fracture. However, any swelling in the foot following trauma can cause this pins and needles sensation as you have described. It might take a long time for foot swelling to resolve because foot is a dependent part of the body and you can have better results if you can keep the foot up especially during sleep. Also, continue with analgesics: they also help to lessen pain and swelling.

It could be metatarsal fracture. How is your foot now?
