Fell Down From Stairs, Have Back Pain, Brush, Burned And Red. Took Advil, Cold Compress

I fell walking fast down stairs last night, hit my middle back on a carpeted step, have back pain where I hit and slightly above on the left, no other symptoms, it is brush burned and red. I treated with cold compress and Advil. Hurts still today. Should I put cold compress again? Or a heating pad? Do I need to have it looked at?. Oh, also had tingling in left hand when it happened but nothing today .
