Feeling Tired, Mood Swings After A Medical Abortion. Have Heavy Bleeding, Abdominal Cramps. Is This Normal?

Hi,
I had a medical abortion two and a half weeks ago since then I am constantly feeling tired and have terrible mood swings. I also was heavy bleeding for the first week then it calmed down slightly and became similar to a bleed like a period. Last week I stopped bleeding for a day then started again. Yesterday I started bleeding heavily again and since yesterday and today I am now experience passing small clots (which had gone after my first week) and also experiencing sharp bad lower abdominal cramps (which had also subsided after the first week) is this normal?

Hi,
Firstly, you should have a physical examination and an ultrasound confirmation for the completion of the abortion two weeks after having the abortion to exclude any remaining products. If the abortion is complete, bleeding should subside within a week to 10 days. Persistence calls for immediate attention. Please see a specialist for further management immediately. Take care.
