Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat, Burning Throat, Lump In Chest. On Doxycycline. Advise?

Hi I've been taking doxycycline for about a month and just recently I've been getting a unusual feeling in my throat as if the pill is stuck there and my throat burns very bad and I have a medium sized lump in my chest. I take doxycycline twice a day morning and night 100 mg. and I'm not sure what this unusual feeling is.

Thanks, ken

Hello

Thanks for consulting H.C.M.

I read your query regarding feeling of something struck in throat, burning throat and lump in chest. You are taking antibiotic Doxycycline for last one month.

Considering your symptoms and co-relating with your medical history it appears as you are suffering from GERD ( gastro esophageal reflux disease ). This is associated with hyper-acidity.

To treat it you should take-

(a) antacids.

(b) avoid spicy food.

(c) Avoid smoking.

(d) Proper rest.

Ihope this answers your query.

Regards.
