Falling Asleep At Work, Huge Tonsils. Could Tonsils Have Grown?

My son just went to the doctor today because he was falling asleep at work. The doctor said well it s his tonsils they are huge. I have looked at his throat many times and never saw what I did today.he played the clarinet and sax for years but recently stopped. He is twenty ...could his tonsils have grown in the last year?

hello,falling asleep at work is a definite feature of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.this condition should not be neglected because it can lead to lung and heart problems later on.it can lead to road accidents[if he dozes off during driving].please see a ENT doctor asap.he has to be treated.i hope this helps.wishing your son the best of health. dr praveen.
