Facial Injury, Loss Of Consciousness, Swelling In Right Eye, Headache, Slurred Speech. Medical Attention Required?

Wednesday night (10th) I tripped and fell flat on my face, under the influence of alcohol due to it being my birthday. I lay unconscious for around 3-4 hours before arriving home, no idea how. My right eye is badly swollen and purple, and my head is a bit sore. My speech was a bit fragmented yesterday but seems ok now. Do I need to get checked out, anything I should worry about? Kind Regards

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for posting this question in HCM
The severity of head injury and the outcome depends upon the presence or absence of certain sets of symptoms. Like the presence of loss of consciousness, vomiting after head injury, seizures, weakness of one side of leg or hand, persistent headache,, bleeding from ear, nose, swelling in the eyes, black eyes etc.The presence of loss of consciousness for more than 3hours, swelling may point towards a severe injury. I strongly recommend you to get examined by a neurologist as well eye specialist who will assess the presence or absence of any clinical neurological deficit and your eye functions respectively. I also strongly recommend you to get a CT scan of the brain to rule out any fracture of brain injury.
So i advise you to undergo urgent medical check up and deal it as per the doctors' advice rather than managing without any evaluation
Hope this clarifies
Regards and i wish you a speedy recovery
