Extreme Pain While Walking With Burning Feeling In Shin, Better With Sitting. History Of Bad Sunburn On Legs. No Help From Asprin. Help
Hi, i got sunburnt real bad on my legs a few days ago and since then (3days ago) i have had extreme pain when trying to walk almost like a real bad bruised and burning feeling in my shin (left leg) when i stand to walk or have been stood in the same postion for a period of time (it is as if the pain is inside my leg, the actual burnt feeling on the skin you get from sunburn as eased) if i sit or lie down the pain disappears but only until the next time i have to move, any ideas if this is normal from bad sunburn to the legs? should i see a gp? i have been taking asprin every 4 hrs but it doesnt seem to be resolving the problem
Hello Jay, Welcome to healthcare magic Severe sunburn can cause this. As legs are in a dependent position when you are standing and walking, because of the increased blood flow your inflammation and swelling increases. It is better to see a GP and get a short course of steroids for three to five days to reduce the inflammation under cover of oral antibiotic. Hope this helped Take care
