Extreme Low Back Pain. Diagnosed Of Spinal Spurs. Recommended Treatment?
My fiancé is having extreme pain in his lower back and today we went to the emergency department at our city hospital where x rays were done and spinal spurs was the diagnosis and a prescription was given for a muscle relaxer which is stronger than robaxacet but is supposed to do the same job only better. Well, he is worse! What would you recommend he do?
As his symptoms are not improving with medicines and on the contrary are getting worse, I suggest you to undergo an MRI scan of his Lumbosacral spine which will detect any soft tissue lesions either in the spinal cord or in the intervertebral discs.
Meanwhile, he should give rest to his back and avoid any activities that produces pain. Use ice packing once in 2 hours to alleviate his pain.
The specific treatment will depend on the diagnosed condition.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation and management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
