Experiencing Orange Diarrhea, Black And Red Bits In Stool, Shortness Of Breath, Chest Pain. Any Suggestion?

Hi, I experienced a stressful situation and the following day I woke up with severe tummy pain and diarrhea. I keep passing oily, orange diarrhea but the stools that I have also produced sometimes with this are pale in colour and I've had black bits in the stool and also lots of reg bits which I think could be blood. I've also been experiencing shortness of breath, tiredness, some pain in my chest?

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

Blood in stool could be either occult or frank blood. Occult blood meaning hidden and usually produces black tarry stools. This condition is called malena and is due to bleeding occurring in upper gastrointestinal tract. Frank blood in stool is seen in lower intestinal bleeding usually rectal and anal bleeding. Blood with mucus in stool in seen in gastrointestinal infection which could be bacterial or parasitic.
A stool examination test will help rule out the exact cause of diarrhea and also confirm blood in stool.
I suggest you get a stool examination done for microscopy and culture to confirm diagnosis.
Chest pain and diarrhea usually occur in acute gastritis. Please take Tab Pantop 40 mg twice daily before food for the next three days.
Fluid diet is recommended.
If stool exam is positive for bacteria or parasites, get a prescription of appropriate antibiotics or antihelminthic drugs by a GP nearby you.
Thanks.
