Done EKG, Blood Test Showing Uric Acid Levels, T Wave, Ischemia Possibility. On Lisinopril. What Is Needed?

Hello,

I went to participate in a Gout study. They performed an EKG and took blood to test my uric acid levels. Uric acid was 9.9 which was just under the limit. ST and T wave abnormal consistant with anterolateral ischemia possible inferior ischema. They did three EKG a minute apart. I am diabetic since 2000. I have been taking Colcrys .6mg twice a day. One 20mg Lisinopril per day. My blood pressure at the time of my visit was 126 over 79 I think. The doctor said due to the EKG he would not use me in the study. The doctor said he would have sent me to the emergency room instead.

My diabetes medication is Novolog Flexpen 80 units per day. Levemir Flexpen 100 units per day. I take the Levemir twice a day and the Novolog with meals. I have not been testing. (that will change) I'm 46 5-7 weighing 236lbs down from 247lbs last year.

I have had a little chest pain but nothing that concerned me. It came and went and lately haven't felt any thing in months. I have noticed that lifting heavy items seems to really tire me out. I just figured it's because I haven't been excerscising. (that will change also)

Discovered I was diabetic in 2000. I was found on the floor of my home by paramedics in active coma. Was taken to hospital and blood sugar was 1387. I just rememberd I am experiencing some nerve issues in my left leg under my knee. It's gotten much better but it's not completely normal.

I drive a taxi so i'm in my car quite a bit. I also manage the company so I do have some stress for sure. I will call my doctor tomorrow to schedule a visit. The people at the study made it clear that I need to go asap. Any thoughts?

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,
After going through all the available detail, you have multiple medical issues,Diabetes type II, High blood pressure,Overweight, and Hyperuricemia and your EKG is suggestive of Ischemic heart disease.

You should understand ischemic changes and damage to heart can occur without chest pain and discomfort what is known as silent ischemic disease which is more common in diabetic patients.

I would suggest you to visit ER as soon as possible to start treatment and you will need further investigations like 2D Echocardiography to know heart function. This can be done after you are hospitalized.

There are blood test like Troponin which can tell us about damage to heart.
You will need coronary angiography to exactly detect the blockage to coronary arteries which can be treated with angioplasty or even a heart surgery.
Your antihypertensive treatment should continue and control of diabetes with insulin.
High Uric acid level is also a risk factor for heart disease and should be treated with diet and prescription drugs.
Hope this information helps you.
Wish you good health
Good Luck.
