Done CR Scan. What Are The Findings In The Report? What Can Be Expected Behaviorally From Such Patients?

I am 37 years old and have recently had a CR scan for occasional sudden acute headaches that will provoke vomiting. The scan was to check for masses or clots, but found none. The finding did indicate a prominence of the frontal lobe sulci more than expected for my age (moderate frontal lobe atrophy). My general question is, what typically can be expected behaviourally or symptomatically from patients with such a finding?

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.

First of all, I would like to reassure you that your CT scan brain findings do not represent nay serious brain problem.

Atrophy refers to shrinkage or smaller size of brain, and it is normal to have that when age increases. Brain atrophy starts early, as early as 20, and is obvious in scans of most people by 40 years of age.

Taken in isolation, mild frontal atrophy in brain has no significance, however, if a person has memory impairment or behavioural changes, then, the finding may be given importance.

I hope it helps. Please get back if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
