Dog Scratched Ankle, No Bleeding. Updated Tetanus Shot Required?

Hello, I was just outside playing with my 1yr old staffy and i kicked the ball and his mistimed grabbing it and scratched my ankle with his teeth .. its not bleeding and has only just taken a small peice of skin.... should i require updated tetnis shot? I havent had the shoot for an exstended amount of time now, any help is appreciated.

hi,
thank you for your query.

i would advise you to take a tetanus shot as even though it is not bleeding at the site of bite but still taking a tetanus shot will prevent any chance of wound getting septic.
and also start a dose of anti-biotics to prevent any further infection.

Yes. You must take tetanus toxoid injection.
Also you should take rabies vaccine if the dog is not immunized as there was contact with teeth of dog.
If you have swelling at the site of bite then antibiotics are also essential.
