Does Vitamin K-2 Supplement Help In Absorption Of Calcium In The Body?

I have 2 questions: 1) I read that taking vitamin K-2 can make it easier for calcium supplements to enter the bones, instead of clogging your arteries. Is this true. If so I will try it. I have multiple myeloma which can cause bone weakness. Thus far I have had no problems in this regard. Are there any negative side affects? 2) I have always had a high triglyceride count. My doctor told me to try taking non-flush niacin to lower trig s. Is this true, and are there any side affects. Will they affect my kidney s Henry G

Hello

The answer to your first question is yes. Vitamin K2 benefits the bones and controls proper utilization of calcium. So if you take this, it will definitely going to help your bones.
There are no negative or side effects of taking this vitamin. Though you should keep an eye on the levels of vitamins and minerals in your body.

And about your second question I must say the main goal of cholesterol treatment is to lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol. Statins do this much better than niacin does. But niacin has the advantage of raising HDL (“good”) cholesterol much more than statins do. It also lowers triglycerides, fats in the blood that can increase the risk of heart disease.

Thanks
