Does The Blood Sugar Report Show The Symptoms Of Pre Diabetic ?

Doctor, I have just received my Blood Sugar test done yesterday morning which reads as under: Blood Sugar ( Fasting ) 115 mg/dl and Blood Sugar (P) 149 mg/dl. What does the result show. Is it pre diabetic symptoms?

Hello,
Yes the values are a little high and would need further evaluation with a Oral Glucose Tolerance Test before a definitive diagnosis can be made. In the meanwhile you can always start certain lifestyle modifications like diet, regular exercise for 30--45 mins daily (walking, cycling) which is an excellent way of keeping the blood sugar levels in check.
Take care,
Regards

Infectious Diseases Specialist Dr. Nicita MD's  Response
Hello, how are you?. Yes, Fasting Blood Sugar of 115 mg/dl, could be considered a "pre-diabetic". You have to consult to a medical nutricionist to control your foods, your weights, and to a medical endocrinologyst to control your insuline values to determine if you need a drug to control its levels.
