Does Taking Thyroxine During Pregnancy Cause A Blighted Ovum?
sir i am a doctor.i hv goiter since my childhood but i was euthyroid by labs.now i am 27 yearsold .i am pregnent with gestation of six weeks on scan there is no fetal pole .i am taking thyroxin 50 mcg for thyroid swelling to reduce.my TFT was normal .is this exogenous thyroxin is cause of blighted ovum likely?

It is important to cure hypothyroidism during pregnancy as a hypothyroid mother may have several complications such as stillbirth.
Please get your TSH checked at regular intervals during pregnancy. Taking 50 mcg of levothyroxine will not affect adversely at all so do not worry and concentrate on your pregnancy.
