Does Ruptured Thyroglossal Duct Cyst Cause Throat Ache?

I went to the doctor following a lump like feeling in my throat, along with stiffness in neck and difficulty swallowing. Thyroid test came back fine however ultrasound discovered Thyroglossal Duct cyst. CT w/contrast was done yesterday and confirmed ruptured TDC. Is it normal to still feel very achy, sore throat, etc.? My regular doctor scheduled a ENT consult in 2 weeks.

Yes, it can cause pain due to inflammation caused by infection and inflammation.
You will be given a course of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and so on as is required to settle the infection and the symptoms.
Let it take about few weeks to settle the inflammation so that you can be given an appointment for proper complete removal of the remnant to have permanent cure.
Surgery is the only way to cure this problem.
